We are a small community in rural southern Middlesex County off exit 8A on
the New Jersey Turnpike. Our population is 6,024, and about ninety-nine percent built up. The area of our
town is 0.9 square miles. Our town is built around the
railroad, Manalapan Lake, and Route 522 (East Railroad Avenue). Our
Municipal Complex (732-521-2222) is located at 131 Perrineville Road. Our government includes our mayor, Mr. LaMantia, and town

remember our deceased veterans of war.
Next to the Grace M. Breckwedel School is Green Acres Park. It contains
two baseball fields, two basketball courts, swings, the
Jamesburg Skate Park, a concession stand/restrooms,
and a socialization area with benches and tables.

afternoon. It is a nice shaded area. There are benches, playground
equipment, and paths.
Jamesburg also lies in part of county owned Thompson
Park. The park is host to Manalapan Lake. It is a great fishing and
canoeing spot. Also in the park is an animal
area. There are deer, rabbits, goats, pigs, pheasants, and ducks at the
park. The park also has recreational fields for soccer and
baseball/softball. Many marked paths travel through this 675 acre park.
In the woods of the park is a freshwater spring.
History Is Alive
Jamesburg is alive with history. The famed Buckelew House is located at
203 Buckelew Avenue, overlooking Manalapan Lake. The Buckelew House is open
daily with rooms filled with splendid artifacts from Jamesburg's past. It
is currently being restored, but open to the public to view. It houses the
famous Lincoln Coach which was used to transport President Lincoln to the
Statehouse in Trenton. On the grounds is a blacksmith's shop, a smokehouse,
and the first set of railroad tracks in Jamesburg. In August is Buckelew
Day. It is a day of fun for the whole family. There are tours, food,
a blacksmith, dixieland band, 14th Regiment reenactment, and much more.
