jamesburg.org & .pdf Files
From time to time, the Jamesburg Public Schools Online (http://www.jamesburg.org) will use .pdf
files to communicate letters from administrators, special schedules, and other important notices.
The .pdf file extension was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated
as a universal, Internet-based file
format that can load quickly on the internet while preserving formatted text. Taking advantage
of this technology, the Jamesburg Public Schools Online will use the .pdf format in order
to make our site more universally compatible, accessible, and user-friendly. In order to read a .pdf
formatted file, Adobe Reader, a free program available for download on the internet, must
be installed on the computer in which a .pdf wishes to be viewed from.
To download Adobe Reader 6.0 for free, visit the Adobe by clicking the picture below:
Once at Adobe, follow the onscreen instructions to download. Once downloaded, open the
installer file and proceed with installation. Once it has finished downloading, an icon
for Adobe Reader will be placed on your desktop. However, when online, to open a .pdf
file in your browser window, simply click on the link for the .pdf file and it will load
itself on your screen.
