Jamesburg School Band
The Public Schools Instrumental Program is under the direction of Ms. Stacey Larkins. At the Grace M. Breckwedel School
the band is composed of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade musicians. Instruments in the band include flutes, clarinets, saxophones,
trumpets, trombones, and percussion. The band also features a bass clarinet, a tenor sax, and piccolo. The
band plays for many occasions. The band performs a winter and spring concert for all community members. The band also replays those
concerts for the students during school hours. As part of Memorial Day tradition, the band performs and marches in the
annual parade. The band also performs annually at the Jamesburg tree lighting ceremony in Veterans' Memorial Park.
The band practices every Thursday after school from 3:00 to 3:30.
For the fourth and fifth graders at the John F. Kennedy School, Junior Band is offered. The fourth graders are introduced to music and
instruments in the beginning
of the school year during a demonstration conducted by
Ms. Stacey Larkins. During the demonstration, the students receive a few pointers and have an opportunity to test out the instruments.
The young musicians begin practicing right away to make their debut at the Spring Concert in May.
